Description
Healthcare Resource’s Medical Assisting Program is a 15 -week program. The program is comprised of 194 total hours. 62 lecture hours for in-person classes, 52 lab hours, and 80 hours of externship. Online students will complete 62 hours of online study along with 52 hours of in-person lab and 80 hours of externship. Externships can begin at week 5 but must be completed by the end week 14 (MA114) Once completed, students will possess the necessary competencies required for an entry level Medical Assistant position within a healthcare setting.

Online/Hybrid classes requires students to log online to complete chapter assignments. Assignments may occur in the form of case studies, quizzes, games and watching videos to enhance student learning. Online students will also participate in group assignments that are to be submitted in the form of a written paper.

Class meets in-person on Mondays and Wednesdays for lecture, lab and testing. Labs are held Wednesdays from 9am – 2pm or 6pm – 10pm. Online classes meet Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm – 10pm. ZOOM sessions are held from 6pm -7pm for online dialogue and discussion. The rest of the time is for online studying and assignments.
